Automatic Vote in workflow

Hello,

I checked  many same post that ask about the automatic workflow voting like

But still I am posting the related post as I was not able to clear doubts.

[ 1 ] Scenario 

If the manager of an employee was not able to vote or approve any review task that should be voted automatically after the time [ for example 2 days ] and state of life cycle should be promoted as  Auto Approved so one can easily identify that it was approved by system.

[2] Life cycle :- I have created life cycle with following Details

States                                                                       

  • Draft            
  • Submitted
  • Approved
  • Auto Approved

My doubts regarding the automatic Activity in workflow are

(1) which activity should be set as Automatic Activity

     [ In review or Auto Approved ]

(2) What are the Activity Properties to verify the time limit ?

      [1] Expected Duration or [2] Time Out Duration

       On which Activity this property should be set?

(3) Promotion for submitted to Auto Approved  can be trigger on which event

      [ on Due ?? ]

(3)  in Review have two path here how it will choice the path of  Sent for auto Approve ? 

(4)  How do Aras calculate Due days ? It starts calculating days on the same day of Creation or the day when task will be in in-basket of manager?

Hello Friends,

While i m trying to Import a Package From  9.3 to 9.4

I got  an Error Message as per screen given Below.[ String or Binary Data would be Truncated ]

When  i Compared the Structure of Property Table in 9.3 & 9.4 i came to know about few Changes in both structure.. [ All changes are related to Data type & the capacity of Field only ]

eg.

9.3                                                             9.4      

CATEGORY_BY   nvarchar(64)               CATEGORY_BY   char(1)

To resolve the issue i tried to Extend the capacity of each field given in Property Table in 9.4

But changes in the Property Table is not Allow.

How to overcome with this Problem?

I am trying to setup my first external application based on HTML5 and DoJo. Has anyone successfully integrated Aras API (IOM.dll, IOM.ScriptSharp.js, IOM.js, aras_object.js) into his HTML5 Webpage?

If yes:
- how?
- Which development environment are you using?

Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint when adding new file using Batch Loader

 I am  editing a part, creating part bom relationship, creating part and adding file relationship using Batch Loader. I don't understand why "PRIMARY KEY" constraint will occur when a new file is added. Can anybody please help me with this error?

i have created one workflow with conditional statement. Example: workflow stages START ,  A ,  B , C , D , END there are six stages. first i am giving condition

(1) if x>=99.99 the workflow will direct stage A to B

(or)

(2) if x>=90 && x<=95.99 the workflow will direct stage A to C 

(or)

(3) if x<=89.99 the workflow will direct stage A to D

 how to write the method for the workflow

Editing records with NASH

Hello Gurus and Gur-ettes,

    I am trying to get my feet wet with version 10, I have had some success with using the NASH interface to import around 2500 Mfg Parts, and around the same number of related Parts. Unfortunately, I missed the 'name' field on the majority of the Part records. Now I am trying to find some variation of using the <Item type="Part" action="get" xml syntax to add missing information to previously imported records:

<AML>

<Item type="Part" action="edit" where="Part.item_number='existing_record'"/><name>missing_name</name>

</AML>

results in malformed XML errors.

<AML>

<Item type="Part.name" action="add" where="Part.item_number='existing_record'"/><name>missing_name</name>

</AML>

results in "Failed to get the Part.name ItemType" errors

but:

<AML>

<Item type="Part" action="get" where="Part.name='part_name'"/>

</AML>

returns a valid record.

So, I tried:

<AML>

<Field type="Part.name" action="get" where="Part.item_number='existing_record'"/>

</AML>

Which leaves me back at malformed XML (<Relationship and <Related don't work either)

Does anyone know the correct callouts/syntax for this type of operation? I would imagine someone has had to resolve a similar situation in the past, any help is appreciated!

Aras 9.3 Cannot identify the UG NX prt filetype properly

Hello, everyone:

I found that the UG NX's prt file is not in the Administration/FileTypes list, and I tried to add an item for this filetype. As the UG NX's prt file has the same extension as the ProE Assembly does, I changed the ProE Assembly's extension field to "prt_disable". But, when I uploaded a UG file, it still shows that it is a ProE Assembly file. 

Does anyone has some ideas about how to let the Aras identifies the UG file properly?

Form Field Dropdown Values Based on Two or More Filtered Values

I've gotten one field in a form to filter values based on the input of another field in the same form.  However, I can't seem to get one field to be filtered based on the inputs of two or more fields.  Below is an example of what I would like to do.

Form Example:

Category (dropdown)

  • Plate
  • Pipe
  • Bolt
  • Nut

Code Standard (dropdown)

  • ASTM
  • ANSI
  • ASME
  • ISO
  • GB/T

Material Specification (dropdown)

  • A307
  • A325
  • 898-1
  • A36
  • Q235B
  • A106B

Selection of Plate and ASTM gives A36 as the only option in the material specification dropdown since Q235B is a GB/T standard.

Selection of Bolt and ISO gives 898-1 as the only option.  If ASTM were selected, A307 and A325 would be the only options.

I added 'filter2' to the 'Filter Value' ItemType so 'Filter2' no appears alongside 'Filter' when creating a list (see screenshot).

I also added 'Pattern2' to the 'Properties' ItemType.  However, 'Pattern' has a dropdown of values that can be selected.  'Patter2' does not have a dropdown of values, thus, I don't think it's linking up.

If this is possible, I may have more than two filters in the future to allow the user to drill down easily into a lot of options.

Adding aspx page as starting page in TOC for an Item Type

We are planning to design an aspx page and add it as starting page for an Item Type. I started with this: Test.aspx

Added a button and a Label, button event to get the existing Parts count and display in the label.Finally added this under C:\Program Files\Aras\Innovator10.0\Innovator\Client\scripts and added this page as Start Page under TOC View.

But facing the following error when I click on my ItemType under TOC.

Server Error in '/InnovatorServer/Client' Application

Runtime Error

 

Is it possible to add an aspx page as an ItemType's starting page. If so please help me with the correct way of implementing this.

 

I tried to add IOM namespace, <%@ Import Namespace="Aras.IOM" %> but Error states: 'IOM' does not exist in the namespace 'Aras'

Please help me.

Hello,

In the Part form i have added 3 custom fileds State,city and code.so what i want to do is whenever i have selected the value in the state

Eg:state = AP

the city and code values should be automatically updated.how can i  slove this.

For the three properties i have added a list of values in the Part item type properties.

OPC Server Interface

Has anyone created an OPC Server interface for Innovator?  OPC (OLE for Process Control) is an industry standard protocol for exchanging information with factory floor devices (e.g., PLCs, Bar Code Scanners, Instrumentation, etc.).  This capability might allow for distributed Innovator systems to act as Product Traceability systems on the factory floor (track all lots and, where available, serial numbers of components going into an assembly).

How to getServerBaseURL from IOM Innovator?

Hi there,

I need to access the Server URL an Innovator instance was logged in to using the IOM. When I use getConnection() there is just methods to get the DatabaseName but nothing to get the ServerURL. Is there any equivalent to the client-side getServerBaseURL in the IOM?

how to use jquery.autocomplete in a Form

Hi community,

Do someone have experience how to use JQeury widgets on a Form? Is this possible?

I want to use the autocomplete function to let the user easy pick an item from a list and if it is not available in the list the user can type their own value. The jquery gives an example how to use it on http://jqueryui.com/autocomplete/

I used this example code in a html field on a Form.

This did not work. We also tried to install the JQuery library in our codetree and reference to in the code but without succes.

We also tried to move out the script declaration to \Client\javascript\scriptset1.aspx but this gave an error at the startup from Aras (iis was reset after scriptset1 modification)

Any suggestion on this or alternatives to Jquery.Autocomplete?

AML to add project

Can you help me with minimal AML needed to open a new Project ? I tryed with this one, but it looks I can't handle WBS in a proper way. Probably it should be entered/created as dependency.

Change item_info display

In the new version 9.2, the item info for parts and documents (item_info) on the forms call this function

document.getElementById("ITEM_INFO_INTERNAL_SPAN").innerHTML = top.aras.uiDrawItemInfoTable(document.itemType);

    top.aras.uiPopulateInfoTableWithItem(document.item, document);

 

I would like to change the what info is called from the function, how can I select or de-select the properties it calls?

Hello Friends,

I am facing an issue while upgrading from 9.3 to 9.4.

"I have imported all related packages of "Project" to 9.4.

In 9.4 i can

                   Add project

                   update Project 

But while i tried to Unlock it gives error as per below.

The function "Business_day_number" is having some Difference in both Schema.

Procedure  "Get_pending_ready_activity2" is same .

What changes i should make to resolve above error.

How to localize the Workflow History Report?

Hi,

I'm trying to do some development on Aras Innovator 10.0, and I got stuck on the Workflow History Report. I had installed the official Chinese language pack, but the Workflow History Report page is still in English. I want to translate this Report page, but I don't have any idea about how to do this. I have checked the Workflow Process History item under Administration/Reports and the Workflow History Report method, but I can only translate the page title up to now. 

Does any one has some idea about how to translate this page?
